Job Description:

  • In accordance with established procedures, performs a variety of routine and non-routine administrative, clerical, data collection, and report writing tasks specific to the group assigned.
  • Receives direction from immediate supervisor in completing routine and non-routine assignments.
  • Gathers statistics and general data; reviews and combines this information into established reports for use within and outside the unit.
  • May develop new reports or revise existing reports, as directed.  Such reports may be in spreadsheet or graphical formats, or narrative-style word processing.
  • Distributes reports as directed by immediate supervisor.
  • Follows up to ensure timely processing of corrections.
  • Maintains employee directory and related data pertaining to employees assigned to the shift. 
  • Tracks and coordinates with other shift clerks the overtime coverage for all shifts to ensure equitable opportunities are provided for all employees to work overtime.
  • Originates correspondence and reports not requiring the personal attention of immediate supervisor. 
  • Answers telephone, taking and relaying messages.
  • Receives, sorts, and distributes mail.
  • May establish and maintain records of equipment, including a log of equipment service dates.  May initiate requests for service.
  • May work closely with immediate supervisor in tracking timeliness of performance appraisals and preparing documents related to personnel actions.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SPECIALIZED TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education Requirement:
  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
Minimum Experience Requirement(s)
  • Job Related Experience: 2-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Nuclear Experience: N/A

  • Certifications: N/A

Specialized Training: Must be able to obtain and maintain qualification as Radiation Worker I.

 

PHYSICAL AND MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to ascend and descend steps to access all three stories of the 221-J building.
  • Must be able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds short distances
