Colorado Civil Road & Highway  Group Leader – Infrastructure  – Denver, Colorado
Opportunity :
Parsons has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Roadway Group Leader  for our Civil Road & Highway Design group in our Denver, Colorado office.  
In this role you will lead a team of technical professionals who deliver projects for local, national, and international clients.  As a part of this team, you will support and/or lead transportation projects as a project principal, project manager, or discipline lead.  You will lead design and production staff in the development of roadway design, construction documents, and related deliverables for Colorado and other regional transportation agencies.  As a group leader you will coordinate with other transportation disciplines within the office and throughout the company as needed to manage project delivery, workload, and technical requirements.
Responsibilities :
  • Will manage, oversee, and lead the design engineering practice to support various Colorado and other regional transportation agencies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and future clients.  Collaborate with business development team to lead or support project development activities.
  • Review work produced to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed and quality is satisfactory.  Monitor productivity and technical proficiency of assigned personnel.  Make staffing assignments and reassignments as project needs arise.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide mentoring, recommend promotions and salary actions, and identify  training and development opportunities for assigned personnel.
  • Define scope of work, budget estimates, staffing requirements, design criteria, schedule, standards, and procedures for project assignments.  Initiate and/or review change order requests for additions, deletions, or changes to the original scope of work.
Promote technical excellence on projects and further the Quality Improvement Process.
  • Maintain affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.  Recommend and/or prepare technical papers and presentations.
  • 4-year degree in Civil  Engineering (or related field) is required.  
  • 12-15 years of related work experience with civil road & highway design and project management
  • Positive team player who is inspired to grow our Colorado transportation practice and support our employee-owned culture
  • Colorado Professional Engineer ( PE)  registration is  required
  • Proven ability to perform in a lead capacity
  • Excellent written and oral communication, leadership, and mentoring skills
  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required
  • Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project
  • Proficient experience and knowledge of Bentley MicroStation Geopak is essential (AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience is a plus)
