Position Overview:
  • Provides direction and management for investment projects, light industry projects, commercial and residential projects which includes coordination, scope management and overall implementation of the project to meet project goals and objectives. Should be familiar with the integration of engineering/technical aspects and construction activities.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Acts as the lead project manager for overall coordination and management of any assigned mechanical (firefighting and MEP) projects interface with master planning team, engineering, procurement, F&B, utility company and all other stakeholders, to define the technical design basis, schedule, development implementation plan, lead efforts of monitoring private investment projects in coordination with the investment development division and project management department.
  • May participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of client.
  • Oversees establishment of project execution plan, health and safety plan, quality assurance/quality control plan and other documents as required.
  • Establishes the program implementation requirements for all areas of the project and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.
  • Assigns responsibilities for executing project plans to key subordinates after careful assessment of how to utilize their qualifications and strengths. Provides input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates. Field responsibilities may include labor relations, local procurement and payroll operations.
  • Make recommendations to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work. Discusses the qualifications required for any key project positions in specific detail with the department managers and directors.
  • Work with the key project individuals to devise and execute actions plans to rectify potential conflicts, coordination issues, delays.
  • Promotes technical and commercial excellence on the project through application of quality assurance process. Monitors and reports to management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions. Establishes weekly meeting to review project status and formulate action items.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
 
Education & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering or related field with minimum 5 years’ experience in project management.
  • Extensive and thorough knowledge of design, installation, testing and commissioning of hydrant, sprinkler, clan agent, spray, fire pumps, foam system, water mist system.
  • Extensive knowledge of code and standards such as TAC, NFPA, UL and FM.
  • Excellent ability to read, analyze and communicate effectively, both verbally and writing in English and Arabic (preferable)
Competencies:
  • Incumbent must meet Parsons project management certifications requirements. Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required. In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.
