POSITION OVERVIEW: 

 

 

If you are a GIS expert skilled at developing geodatabases and real property infrastructure data, Parsons has an opportunity for you to work with a multi-discipline team that is providing installation planning support to military organizations across the United States and overseas.

 

 

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Receiving, reviewing, and evaluating customer provided data for completeness, and determining data gaps and assumptions to fill the gaps and providing geospatial support to the planning tasks.
  • Leading GIS and spatial analysis in support of the development of Installation Development Plans, and other related studies.
  • Development of map and construction concept graphics for print ready and digital reports, presentations, and other planning support materials.
  • Digitization of building floorplans in support of Real Property accountability tasks. Maps should have geometric closure, topography, and metadata in accordance with Tri-Services CAD Standards
  • Transform data between CAD, Microstation, and ESRI within Tri-Services Standards.
  • Serve as SME for GIS, GPS, CAD, and other information technology applications and hardware.
  • Provide other planning and programming support as required.

 

We prefer our candidates to have experience in::

 

 

Planning:

 

  • Knowledge in the principles and practices of installation planning;

 

Military:

  • Service in an Active or Reserve Component of the US Army, Navy, Marines, or Air Force;
  • Former or current dependent (Spouse or Child) of an Active Duty Service Member and lived on a military installation; or
  • Civilian employment experience with a military installation or organization.

 

Specialized Software and Applications:

  •  Advanced technical capability with GIS, Adobe CS, or other relevant and emerging software;
  • Training and Experience US military enterprise databases (PRISMS, GeoBase, iNFADS, GFEBS, RPLANS, PAX, et

     

 


Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Proficiency using the ArcGIS suite of products (ArcMap, ArcCatalog, and ArcToolBox), SDE, SQL Database, quality assurance and quality control of spatial data, SDSFIE, and FGDC.
  • U.S. citizens ONLY due to government or federal requirement. 
  • 4-year degree from an accredited institution in geography, planning, engineering, computer science, or related curriculum (or equivalent).
  • Prior military or previous GIS experience working with the military is preferred.
  • GISP Certification a plus
