PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
  • Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Possess a minimum of 20 years' experience in the tunneling / geotechnical sector, within a design consultancy environment.
  • High-level technical skills and expertise in soil/structure interaction.
  • Accomplished team leader with the ability to support, mentor and develop less experienced engineers with a demonstrable record of building and developing a team of geotechnical/civil/tunnel engineers.
  • Sound understanding of health and safety Regulations, risk assessment process and be familiar with international standards.
  • Strong leadership and strong decision-making skills.
  • A proven client relationship building skills and will be able to lead technical input for bids and tenders.
  • Proven track record in leading ground engineering design teams and management of design delivery and ground related risks in a design and build environment.
  • Possess strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Communicates well across all levels of the business.
  • Demonstrates a high level of accountability and independent decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; the ability to write a clear and concise technical report is essential.
  • Experienced in design of geotechnical works for rail and road schemes including slopes, foundations, retaining structures, strengthened earthworks, tunnels, track bed and road pavement foundations, and ground improvement.
  • In-depth knowledge of the GCC working conditions, including client expectations, geotechnical conditions, standards and codes.
