Balancing the budgetary, technical, and aesthetic concerns associated with planning, designing, and managing the construction of sustainable buildings is one of our specialties! 

 

We are looking for experienced Assessors to perform evaluations on buildings, that may include schools, universities, pharmaceutical facilities, government buildings and military bases.  With your expertise, you can assist customers achieve these goals, by performing routine facility evaluations on internal and external structures, HVAC equipment and systems, electrical equipment, interior finishes, site utilities, landscape and building aesthetics, sidewalks, foundations and pavement.   

 

 

 

Our Facilities Assessors provide architectural/civil facility condition assessments, mechanical, electrical and plumbing assessments and aesthetic assessments, report on their findings and perform cost estimates for clients for recommended improvements. You will be expected to travel to facilities, perform assessments, put findings into our system, prepare analyses of the building, prepare reports and present findings to the clients.  

 

This role can lead to a Project Management type of opportunity where you can be managing clients and leading teams of assessors. 

 

 

NOTE:  Candidates can work out of Parsons offices in Houston and other locations but will travel 40-50% of the time to client locations to perform assessments.  Travel/expenses are covered during this travel.  

 

 

 

 

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management (or related field) is required with minimum of 3+ years of relevant building design, assessor or construction experience.

Professional licensure advantageous (RA, PE) or relevant certifications (CCM, LEED, CEA, CEM).

 

Non-Degreed Assessors must have 8+ years of relevant work experience.

 

Candidates considered for Sr. level Assessor roles, and have at least 3 years of leadership/supervisory experience ,may lead and help develop more junior level assessors.   

 

Proficient in the application of engineering and architectural design standards, practices, and techniques.

 

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

 

Requires a working knowledge of commercial construction codes and their application to existing facilities.

 

Advanced knowledge of UNIFORMAT II Classifications for building specifications.

 

Strong written and oral communication skills.

 

Project definition and planning experience preferred.

 

Ability to walk for long periods (6 to 8 hours/day) and climb ladders.
