Are you pursuing a degree in Computer Science and looking for an opportunity to demonstrate and further develop your skills with one of the world’s best engineering firms? The Engineering department in Parsons' Federal business unit is looking for a programmer to perform a variety of tasks in support of one or more Engineering department initiatives. You will work on requirements definition, design, development, testing, and documentation related to our Engineering Operations Dashboard. Location: Washington, DC.


Specific Responsibilities

The ideal candidate-
  • Works with the Engineering Systems Director and Developers to define, design, develop, test, and document new utilities for the Engineering Operations Dashboard. Most utilities will require the ability to analyze the database structure and content from source systems, develop SQL queries, develop interactive user screens, and present query results in a user-friendly web display.
  • Works with the Engineering Department and web development team on design of intranet sites. 
  • Participates in reviews of site design, navigation, and proposed content.
  • Works with the discipline leads to review legacy content on the current department intranet site to determine a disposition (e.g. delete, archive, save).
  • Documents the website content migration plan.
  • Supports additional tasking as required.

  • Experience with SQL query development using SQL Server, Oracle, or other databases.
  • Web development experience (ASP.NET MVC, VB.NET, HTML/CSS, JQuery).
  • Experience with design and development of websites, especially using MVC frameworks.
  • Experience with Sharepoint is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • U.S. Citizenship.

  • Motivation and the ability to work as a productive member of a team.
  • Experience with additional programming languages (Python, Java, C#, C++, etc.).
  • Experience with or a willingness to learn a variety of platforms—Linux, Windows, etc.
