Associate Traffic Engineer – Atlanta, Georgia
Opportunity :  
 Do you have an affinity for simulating traffic patterns to alleviate congestion and improve safety on major road and highway transportation projects?  Parsons is now hiring a Junior Traffic Engineer with a passion for innovation and solving complex problems to join our team in our Atlanta – Peachtree Corners, Georgia  office. 
Parsons extensive experience in this field, combined with your basic engineering knowledge, will propel your career forward with opportunity for advancement with top performance.  We need our engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environment and who have exceptional communication, analytical and management skills.
This position may assist in data collection and field investigation efforts for transportation studies - including performing traffic counts, travel time runs, and roadway element inventories.  This position requires a  working knowledge of Highway Design Manuals, Traffic Manual and the  Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). You may be responsible for analyzing and performing technical simulations.
  • Develop traffic and transit travel demand forecasts
  • Assist in developing traffic management and control plans, as well as
  • Assist in developing traffic signal and roadway/transit planning evaluations
  • Analyzing and performing technical simulations and
  • Work as part of a team with designers and other multi-disciplined engineers. In this capacity, you may be
  • Expected to meet tight deadlines and unexpected requirement changes. 
This position is based in our Atlanta – Peachtree Corners, Georgia office
  • 4-year degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering (or related field)
  • 0-2 years of related work experience. Studies in traffic systems or transportation engineering systems highly preferred.  
  • In addition, an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate is preferred.
  • Requires basic process engineering knowledge, as well as a working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering.
